"Maybe instead of gazing at your own heart-stopping face, you should throw out your mirror and dedicate yourself to something that feeds your soul and makes you feel even more alive than, I don't know, admiring your own image?

...You pity the old ladies. What you don't know is that they pity you even more. They know what a burden you're carrying around, and they know how bad it makes you feel, to think of losing this thing that's actually a crutch that keeps you from maturing and connecting with the world."

-Ask Polly. "I'm Almost 30 And I'm Terrified of Losing My Looks."

I love this. Actually, I can think of a few gay men who might benefit from reading it...

The Twilight Zone

This one was one of my favorite episodes of The Twilight Zone - I'm glad someone uploaded it. The premise is that on the night of her engagement, a woman is chased on horseback by a ghostly phantom. Part of the "twist" is that it isn't actually a phantom at all -- it's her future self, trying to give her a warning about her engagement. Awesomely twisted.

 Happy Sunday.

I still think this is true, actually. From The Twits, by Roald Dahl -- this was one of my favorite books to read as a kid.
